Checked on 27 October 2026 on each company’s website. Zenchef prices come from its French pricing page, which doesn’t say whether VAT is included. ResDiary and AlpineTable prices exclude VAT. ResDiary publishes two different figures for its payment surcharge, so we don’t quote one. Spotted something out of date? Email pedro@alpinetable.com and we’ll fix it.

Price

What you pay, and when.

Zenchef

A monthly subscription from €129 (Reserve) to €249 (Grow), with no per-cover fees. Paying for a year costs the same as twelve months. Text messages and the card-imprint option are charged on top.

ResDiary

Priced by how many bookings you take each month: €109 for up to 150, €139 up to 450, €209 up to 1,000 and €315 unlimited, excluding VAT, plus a €109 setup fee. Going over your limit moves you up a tier automatically. Text messages, POS and CRM are €10 monthly add-ons each.

AlpineTable

From €39 per month you’re open, or a winter pass from €179 for five months. No per-cover fees. When you close, Pause Mode keeps your page and guest book ready: €5 a month on Core, included on Service and up.

Seasons

Closed for half the year?

Zenchef

You can block closure periods so guests can’t book. We found no published way to pause or reduce the subscription while you’re closed.

ResDiary

“Segments” let you change settings for a date range. We found no published pause or seasonal plan, and The Access Group’s standard terms ask for at least 90 days’ notice to leave.

AlpineTable

Billing follows your season: pay per active month or buy a winter, summer or all-season pass. While you’re paused, guests can still book for next season.

New guests

Marketplace reach or direct bookings?

Zenchef

The Zenchef app suggests nearby restaurants to diners, with no commission. Reserve with Google is included on every plan.

ResDiary

Guests book through your widget, which carries “Powered by ResDiary” branding, through Reserve with Google, Instagram and Facebook, and on a ResDiary microsite. In the UK, DesignMyNight adds diner reach.

AlpineTable

Guests find you in the resort directory on alpinetable.com and book direct with you. The reach is smaller than a national marketplace, and there are no per-cover fees.

FAQ

Common questions

Who owns ResDiary?

ResDiary has been part of Access Hospitality, within The Access Group, since July 2023. It was founded in Glasgow in 2004.

Does ResDiary charge commission?

No. ResDiary says it does not charge a commission on bookings, wherever they come from. It charges a monthly subscription based on how many bookings you take, a setup fee and optional add-ons.

Is ResDiary available in French?

We found no French or German version of ResDiary’s website. Zenchef’s software is available in seven languages, including French, and AlpineTable in six, including French, German and Italian.

Which is cheapest for a seasonal restaurant?

It depends on how many months you’re open and how many bookings you take. ResDiary charges by booking volume and publishes no pause. Zenchef publishes monthly prices with no seasonal plan. AlpineTable charges only for active months or a seasonal pass. Ask each one for a written quote that covers your closed months.

What happened to Guestonline and Formitable?

Both are now part of Zenchef. Guestonline’s website reads “Guestonline devient Zenchef”, and Zenchef says Formitable, Resengo and Zenchef are now the same platform.

Can guests book an AlpineTable restaurant from Google?

Yes, through a booking link you add to your Google Business Profile. It is a link to your booking page, not a Reserve with Google integration.
